You never know what is going on in other people’s lives

I was reading through the feedback forms from the last course and as always, I'm amazed by how much you have going on...

  • Challenges bonding with your baby - pregnant and postpartum;

  • Challenges connecting with the body you currently live in - pregnant, postpartum, and being female;

  • Family health challenges;

  • Work struggles & issues;

  • Financial strain of mat.leave, childcare, interest rates, cost of living...

  • This could be a very long list but I'll pause here.

Can you find more flow?

Can you find more flow?

About four weeks ago we “moved house” without moving house.

Weird, I know, but it’s basically what we did.

The flow this has created is immense.

Even Doggo and BiscuitCat love it.

If you look at how your space flows is there something you could change? It doesn’t need to be as mammoth as mine.

Perhaps you could shuffle one room around.

Progress Isn’t Linear

I've been making a slow journey back to movement after what ended up being a year off for different reasons.

It's been a great reminder for me as a pregnancy and postnatal specialist, of the journey that so many of you go through.

I had a slow wind-down of activity from April to December. I wasn't injured but my energy was low and my mood was unpredictable; movement wasn't my priority.

I liken this to the pregnancy journey.

Community Building

Community is evident in the postnatal community.

They share the challenges of the mental load of being a mum, parenting differences with partners, work juggles, and still being an independent person outside of "Mum".

They listen to each other, acknowledge each other, and there is no judgement.

Wear it anyway

If we want to see change, we have to create it.

Here I am, living in a body that my "growing up in the 90's" brain still reminds me isn't acceptable, but I'm also a "middle-aged" woman living in 2024 that knows different.

When you can’t walk your “therapy dog” and life is sh*t

I was now in emotional pain and physical pain for different reasons.

I’m not sure that is allowed, it must be against some type of human decency act of some sort.

My recipe for getting through the hard days when the usual stuff doesn’t work.

Battling Body Confidence

Trigger Warning: Pregnancy Loss | Trying To Conceive | Eating Disorder

After working through adult ED I managed to change my thinking, and most of my patterns and have compassion for myself.

I had been comfortable with the changes in my body through the years.

But the last year has been different.

Since April’23 I have gained weight and I am struggling with this.

The weight gain has been hormonal and emotional.

Permission to play

Children learn so much through play and I think we need more play in our lives as adults.

My invitation to you today is to stop “growing up” and start playing and see what you discover.

You have a 15-minute yoga flow to move through focused on play as a doorway to discovery.

Rest is best but what is rest?

For many people doing nothing creates anxiety - physical and/ or emotional. If this is a familiar feeling for you, try not to increase your anxiety by “not resting the right way”.
