Rest is best but what is rest?

What is rest?

When the dog is unsure what rest is and questions your choice to fall asleep in the midddle of the afternoon.

I was recently asked how I went from being so busy to finding time to rest - I used to be a chronic do-er.
My answer - binge watching trash, but most importantly, rest in a way that is right for you.

For many people doing nothing creates anxiety - physical and/ or emotional. If this is a familiar feeling for you, try not to increase your anxiety by “not resting the right way”. Lower the pace from 100% to 90%, then when that feels more achievable, lower the pace to 80%, and so on. Eventually, you might find comfort in complete rest. Stranger things have happened - so I’m told

Rest merely needs to be being at a slower pace than "frantic doing".

It could be guided relaxation, listening to an audiobook or podcast, focused breathing, or writing.
Or, it might be physical, a nice walk outside, gentle movement, or a slow bike ride.

Rest does not have equal "do nothing".
Listen to your body, and your mind, and pick what creates good feelings for both.
