Community Building
Creating Connections
Building Community
Supporting Eachother
These are all things I hoped to nurture when I started teaching yoga.
Well, it's happening and I fircken love it.
For any of you who are self-employed or run your own business you know the effort that goes into attracting "new business". For me as a pregnancy & postnatal yoga specialist that means constantly being on the hunt for pregnant people.
I'm not going to lie, It's a bit of a wombache.
But when I see people coming together, supporting each other, and making friends, it is all worth it.
This is evident in the postnatal community, particularly the postnatal without babies group that comes together.
They share the challenges of the mental load of being a mum, parenting differences with partners, work juggles, and still being an independent person outside of "Mum".
They listen to each other, acknowledge each other, and there is no judgement.
There is the sharing of ideas to shift some things and reassurance that sometimes it is just a bit shite but it does pass.
There is the celebration of not-so-little ones finally sleeping through the night, of allergies being identified, of work achievements.
There are recommendations of different childcare options, of boundary creation & setting, and parenting options.
And there are talks of meeting up between courses for catch-ups, coffees, and cocktails.
It’s community.
It’s connection.
It's beautiful.
To each of you who has taken the chance to join a class with that I offer, thank you.
To each of you who has recommended me, thank you.
